Shana Banana Study Guides
Throughout her beautiful and fun music, Shana Banana has anchored her artistry with education and life lessons. She is unique among national
children's' artists for the well-written and thoughtful classroom and home study guides which accompany all of her individual songs and her popular "themed" shows.
Born in Hawaii and raised along the California and Florida coasts, Shana traded a career as a marine scientist for the glamour of the children's music stage a few years ago. And she's never looked back. A performer at NACA campuses, Kidstock, the White House, libraries, schools, and numerous folk and kids' festivals, Shana is one of the new era of children's artists. She is a trained educator who brings an exciting modern vision to children's music and a tremendous singer-songwriter who is trained in the pop, blues and jazz fields.
Upbeat and modern, her song and story titles include "Toothbrush Rock," which
emphasizes, Elvis style, the fun and importance of brushing your teeth; "Pirate Scooterdoo," a lively tune about a book loving pirate who teaches kids about the four directions; "Trash Rap," which teaches recycling and has kids chanting "Pick it up . . . and throw it a-WAY!" and "Black Beetle," which drives home the point that a person shouldn't be judged by what they look like. Each song can be found in her popular study guides, which include games, ideas, suggestions and instruction.
Shana Banana themes include Bananamagination, Che-han-tah-mo, Bananas For Lunch, SPARK, You Make Me Bananas, Banana Yoga, and Holiday Show. There are also study guides covering the content of her CDs and video, as well. Parents and teachers across the nation are using these guides, with Shana Banana's music, to help make learning fun.
